Career & Experience

I have proudly spent 31 years in the legal profession, working in criminal, family, civil, real estate, estate, and special proceeding law. I truly love what I do and believe citizens deserve respect, professionalism, and compassion when they walk through the courthouse doors.

My staff and I regularly attend training through the Administrative Office of the Courts and UNC School of Government to stay current on law and procedure. 

I regularly meet with judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and community partners to ensure our courts operate smoothly and efficiently.

Leadership & Accomplishments

  • Helped guide the court system through the COVID-19 pandemic, working with state and county leaders to ensure that court operations continued safely and responsibly. 
  • Led the Clerk’s Office through the rollout of North Carolina’s statewide eCourts filing and case management system, which improves transparency and access to court records. 
  • Implemented a modernized jury system that streamlines communication and enhances the juror experience. 
  • Serves on the North Carolina Conference of Clerks' Technology and Training Committees, working to strengthen innovation, training, and support for Clerk's Offices across our state.
  • Leads a team of 48 dedicated professionals who greet citizens every day with kindness and professionalism.
  • Chosen as one of five clerks across the state for the Chief Justice's Certificate of Excellence in 2022. In recognition of professionalism, excellence, and dedication to improving the administration of justice in North Carolina.
